Plot
Sıla is a young woman who was separated from her family at an early age and raised by a wealthy family in Istanbul. Believing that her biological family is dead, she returns to Mardin when her biological father, Celil, tells her that her mother is ill. The real purpose of the trip is to marry her to Boran Agha through the berdel tradition in order to save her brother Azad’s life. Removed from her modern Istanbul life and placed in a social order shaped by tribal authority and customary rules, Sıla rejects the marriage and searches for a way to regain her freedom. Boran, meanwhile, is caught between his responsibilities, the pressure of tradition and his growing feelings for Sıla. Their relationship becomes the centre of the series’ conflict between custom, family authority and individual freedom.
