Mehmet Akif Alakurt is a Turkish actor and former model, born in Istanbul on July 23, 1979. He completed his primary and secondary education in Istanbul. In 1998, he entered modelling through the Neşe Erberk agency, and in 2001 he won Best Model of Türkiye before receiving a placement at Best Model of the World. He began acting mainly through television productions. His early credits include Kırık Ayna, Metro Palas, Zeytin Dalı and Hacı. One of his defining television roles was Boran Genco in ATV’s Sıla. He later played Maraz Ali in Adanalı and Murat in Reis. His subsequent television credits include Fatih and Emanet. While some secondary sources associate his birthplace with Fatsa in Ordu, ATV’s biographical page identifies Istanbul as his birthplace.
