Plot
Prens is set in the fictional medieval-style Kingdom of Bongomia. The central character was never given a name by his family and is known simply as “the Prince.” After King Thun’s death, he unexpectedly becomes part of the struggle for power. Conflicts involving his stepmother Queen Sion, his uncle Kalesh, his older brother Thenio and his sister-in-law Anarkhia expand into a wider political crisis when Bongomia faces the Hungarian Empire. The series combines palace and war drama with anachronistic dialogue, absurd behavior and character-driven comedy.

Seinfeld
Confirmed by a creator or official sourceGiray Altınok stated that, while writing with Kerem Özdoğan, the comedic structure of Prens drew on Seinfeld’s approach to situational comedy. This does not mean that the plot was adapted from Seinfeld; it is a statement about an influence on the construction of comedy.

What's in this series?
From a social-media character to a series universe
Prens originated with the character performed by Giray Altınok in short social-media sketches. Altınok and Kerem Özdoğan later developed the character into a series set in the fictional Kingdom of Bongomia, with episodes running approximately 40 minutes. The first season’s use of virtual production by MGX Film is a notable part of the show’s production context.
A fictional medieval world and historical allusions
Bongomia is not a real country but a fictional medieval kingdom. The series includes references or allusions to the Hungarian Empire, European kingdoms and, in later developments, Ottoman history. These elements create a fictional framework that transforms court intrigue and war narratives into absurd comedy rather than reconstructing a specific historical event.
An absurd character inside dramatic events
According to Giray Altınok, the comedy comes from placing a rule-breaking character inside a world filled with intense dramatic action, allowing his behavior to affect everyone around him. As a result, struggles over the throne, wars and family conflicts are treated not as straightforward historical drama but as absurd situations exposing the characters’ contradictions and desire for power.
Use of virtual production
According to MGX Film’s production page, the first season consists of eight episodes designed to run approximately 40 minutes each. The production team used virtual production to create a substantial part of the visual world in a studio environment, enabling the fictional locations of Bongomia to be designed without relying entirely on conventional location shooting.
