Plot
Meryem Tunalı loses her family at a young age and grows up under the care of Cennet, her mother’s close friend. Known by the nickname “Ugly,” Meryem has loved Cennet’s son Kadir since childhood. Her life changes when Kadir unexpectedly proposes marriage. The proposal, however, is tied to a complicated web involving Kadir’s family, business affairs, and debts. While Kadir manages the business of Ökkeş Karataş, whom he sees as both his employer and a father figure, he also tries to conceal his relationship with Ökkeş’s daughter Lale. When Lale learns about Kadir’s marriage to Meryem, the relationship turns into a major conflict. As the story progresses, blackmail, hidden footage, crime, and revenge push the characters toward irreversible decisions. In the season finale, Meryem goes to the police and confesses to protect Kadir, while Kadir faces a threat shaped by blackmail and revenge.
