Plot
The series begins when Ali Rıza Bey leaves his position after his daughter Necla is accepted to a university in Istanbul and moves to the city with his wife Hayriye and their children. As the Tekin family tries to adapt to urban life, tension grows between Ali Rıza Bey’s moral principles and his children’s changing expectations. Şevket’s relationship and marriage to Ferhunde become a major source of conflict within the household. Leyla and Necla’s choices, Fikret’s decision to leave the family home, and Şevket’s increasing responsibilities make Ali Rıza Bey’s effort to keep the family together increasingly difficult. The story follows the family’s emotional, financial, and relational fractures through its 174-episode run.
