Plot
Cazibe Abbasova, who is of Azerbaijani origin, decides to marry a Turkish citizen on paper in order to obtain a work permit in Turkey. Through an intermediary known as Gül Hanım, she reaches Kemal, a man facing financial hardship. Kemal accepts the marriage in exchange for money, and the two meet for the first time at the wedding ceremony. Their agreement requires them to remain married for three years and convince inspectors that they are a real couple. Their contrasting personalities create immediate conflict, while Commissioner Peker Pekmez of the Foreigners Branch investigates whether the marriage is genuine. Kemal’s connection with Simge, their neighbors and their social circle add further complications to the couple’s attempt to maintain the appearance of a normal marriage.

What's in this series?
Production and broadcast context
According to ATV’s 2010 announcement, the series was written by Gani Müjde, produced by Süreç Film and directed by Bora Onur. ATV’s episode archive lists the series finale as episode 93, dated June 16, 2012. After Peker Açıkalın left the project in 2011, the Peker Pekmez character was removed and replaced by Commissioner Ejder Taşkın, played by Sinan Çalışkanoğlu.
Paper marriage and immigration bureaucracy
The central conflict uses Cazibe’s paper marriage, her work-permit and citizenship goal, the three-year marriage requirement and official inspection as the fictional engine of the comedy. The available sources do not identify the series as a dramatization of a specific real case.
The fictional conflict structure
The comedy grows from the tension between a marriage entered for practical reasons and the obligation to appear genuinely married. The couple’s contrasting personalities, Peker Pekmez’s investigation, Simge’s connection with Kemal and Hulusi’s suspicions all increase the risk that the arrangement will be exposed.
Broadcaster and writer perspective
In a 2010 ATV interview, writer Gani Müjde said that viewers were looking for stories that would make them laugh amid lives filled with pain and drama. This is presented as the writer’s view of comedy and audience expectations, not as an independent ratings or critical-success claim.
