What's in this series?
Novel adaptation
The series is officially described as an adaptation of Gülseren Budayıcıoğlu’s novel of the same title. However, the available official production, broadcaster and publisher sources do not provide a systematic account of changes to the plot, characters or chronology.
Psychiatric background and the limits of the true-story claim
The publisher presents the source novel as a literary work by Gülseren Budayıcıoğlu, whose professional background is in psychiatry and psychotherapy. Neither the series nor the publisher identifies Kenan Baran or the other characters as specific real people. The production should therefore not be classified as a verified biography.
Power, betrayal and psychological reckoning
Official descriptions frame the story around love turning into betrayal, power turning into weakness and the hunter becoming the hunted. Kenan’s need for control, Handan’s confrontation with betrayal and Fadi’s effort to redefine her boundaries create the central tension between power relations and personal change.
Production and international presentation
The series was produced by OGM Pictures and broadcast on Star TV. It was directed by Yağmur Taylan, Durul Taylan and Cem Toluay, with a screenplay by Ertan Kurtulan, Eylem Akın and Sedef Bayburtluoğlu Gürerk. OGM Pictures’ English catalogue gives the verified international title as “The Fall of the King”.
