Forbidden Love (Aşk-ı Memnu) is a Turkish drama, romance series broadcast on Kanal D, first aired in 2008–2010. Adapted from Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil’s novel of the same name, the series follows the affluent Ziyagil family as Adnan’s new wife, Bihter, becomes involved in a secret relationship with his nephew Behlül.

Plot
Adnan Bey’s marriage to Bihter changes the balance within the Ziyagil family. Living in a Bosphorus mansion, the family is shaken by the secrecy, betrayal and conflict surrounding the forbidden relationship between Bihter and Adnan’s nephew Behlül. As the couple tries to conceal their affair, the relationship affects Adnan, Nihal, Firdevs and the other people around the household. The series preserves the central love triangle of Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil’s novel while rebuilding it in a contemporary Istanbul setting.
