Why are A.B.İ., Aşk ve Taht (Love and Throne) and Çirkin (Ugly) ending, and when are their final episodes?

Kenan İmirzalıoğlu, Bergüzar Korel (A.B.İ.) · Akın Akınözü (Aşk ve Taht) · Derya Pınar Ak, Çağlar Ertuğrul (Çirkin)

Short answer

According to reports in the press, all three series are ending between 4 and 7 October 2026; of these, only Çirkin (Ugly)'s finale is confirmed by the channel's own record. Star TV's Çirkin finishes with episode 11 on Sunday 4 October; the channel labelled this episode's trailer "Final" on its own site. atv's A.B.İ. will say goodbye with episode 23 (the second season's 5th episode) on Tuesday 6 October, and Aşk ve Taht with episode 5 on Wednesday 7 October — both of these decisions rest on a report by journalist Birsen Altuntaş, and as of 2 October there is no "final" wording on atv's site. The shared reason given in the reports is low ratings: Aşk ve Taht placed 14th in Total with 1.62 on 23 September, Çirkin fell to 7th place in all three categories on 27 September, and the A.B.İ. decision came after the 22 September results.

2 October 2026 — Before the first month of the new television season was even over, news broke of early finales for three series; according to reports, all three will say goodbye to the screen in the same week: Star TV's Çirkin (Ugly) airs its last episode on Sunday 4 October, atv's A.B.İ. on Tuesday 6 October, and atv's Aşk ve Taht on Wednesday evening 7 October. Onedio (Esra Demirci, 29 September 2026) gathered the three into a single report, but the decisions rest on different sources; this file relays each series at its own level of evidence. As of when this file was written, none of the three finales had aired yet.

Which finale is confirmed, and which is a report?

For Çirkin (Ugly) there is a record from the channel itself: in the trailer archive on Star TV's official site, both trailers for episode 11 carry the "Final" label. For A.B.İ. and Aşk ve Taht there is no such label on atv's site; the trailer for A.B.İ.'s episode 23 is online but does not carry the word "final." Both atv decisions rest on a report by journalist Birsen Altuntaş. For A.B.İ., Haberler.com wrote that neither the channel nor the production company has made an official statement on the reasoning behind the decision; for Aşk ve Taht, no official statement was found in the sources this file reviewed, or on atv's site, as of 2 October. Haber Kenti also noted that the A.B.İ. report rests on "industry sources," and that the schedule will only become final with an official announcement. The dates hold only if there is no change to the broadcast schedule.

Why is Çirkin (Ugly) ending?

The series, credited to 25 Film, began on 29 March 2026; Derya Pınar Ak plays Meryem, who grew up in the neighbourhood with the nickname "Çirkin," and Çağlar Ertuğrul plays her childhood love Kadir. According to Onedio, the series was first in all three categories — 6.28 in Total, 5.20 in AB and 6.27 in ABC1 — when it made its season finale with episode 8 on 17 May. After a gap of roughly four months, episode 9 on 20 September stayed in 6th place in ABC1 with 2.31; in episode 10 on 27 September the series fell to 7th place in all three categories (GZT, Onedio). So the second season will run for only three episodes. According to the report Onedio attributes to Birsen Altuntaş, falling ratings combined with rising production costs to produce the decision. Haberler.com's statement that "the second season started with episode 8" contradicts the Star TV archive, however: the channel labels episode 8 the "Season Finale."

What did the cast of Çirkin (Ugly) say?

At the farewell dinner, which Onedio relayed from Page 2's images, Çağlar Ertuğrul said: "Well, the industry sometimes plays these little jokes, let's say." He went on to say, "Honestly, we didn't get the chance to say goodbye"; because the final episode had already been filmed, the cast reportedly never went back on set. Ertuğrul also said that rather than moving on to other jobs after May, the set crew had said, "we'll be waiting for Çirkin for three months." Başak Gümülcinelioğlu, who plays Lale, said: "Lucky us — we closed our first season in first place with ratings of 7-8." The figure the actress cited is higher than the season-finale rating Onedio reported (Total 6.28); she did not specify which category or which night she meant.

Why is A.B.İ

ending? The series, credited to OGM Pictures, began on 13 January 2026; in the first season Kenan İmirzalıoğlu played surgeon Doğan Hancıoğlu, and Afra Saraçoğlu played lawyer Çağla Öncü. According to Türkiye Gazetesi, the character Çağla was written out of the story after being shot in episode 17, director Cem Karcı was replaced by Yağız Alp Akaydın, and Bergüzar Korel joined the second season in the female lead role as Leyla, a figure from Doğan's past; the Karadayı pair reunited 11 years later. The second season began on 8 September with episode 19. According to Birsen Altuntaş's report, the decision was made after the 22 September ratings; that evening the series was 4th in Total with 3.32, 7th in AB with 2.42, and 6th in ABC1 with 3.07 (Onedio, Habertürk, Box Office Türkiye). Türkiye Gazetesi wrote that the series rose in all three categories that night compared with the previous week, but that the decision did not change. In the 29 September episode, after the finale report, A.B.İ. fell to 9th in Total, 12th in AB and 10th in ABC1 (Onedio).

Which episode number is A.B.İ.'s finale?

The phrase "finale at episode 5" in the reports refers to the fifth episode of the second season. The first season ran 18 episodes; since the second season began with episode 19, the season's 5th episode corresponds to the series' 23rd episode overall, and it is expected to air on Tuesday evening 6 October. Onedio and Haberler.com write that the series saw ratings above 11 in Total during its first season; they do not say in which episode. There is no clarity on the Tuesday slot that will open up: Haberler.com and Haber Kenti wrote that Hamal, starring Oktay Kaynarca, Fahriye Evcen and Caner Cindoruk, is expected to move into that slot (according to Haber Kenti, this is backstage information). According to Onedio's report, which it based on Dizi Dünyası's schedule on 30 September, no series appears in the schedule to take A.B.İ.'s place in the Tuesday slot; the same report, citing backstage information, wrote that Hamal is expected to start around the end of October, but which evening it will air has not been announced.

Why is Aşk ve Taht ending?

In the period drama directed by Taylan Biraderler and credited to Bozdağ Film, Akın Akınözü plays the Anatolian Seljuk Sultan Alaeddin Keykubat (Kayqubad I); the cast also includes Merjem Siljak and Simay Barlas. The series, which began on 9 September, scored 1.62 for 14th place in Total, 1.47 for 13th in AB and 1.45 for 15th in ABC1 with episode 3 on 23 September (GZT). According to Onedio, that same night even the repeat broadcast of Tuzlu Kahve on Star TV outranked the series in all three categories. According to Türkiye Gazetesi, the first five episodes had already been filmed, and the crew had paused filming for three days to see the ratings; according to the report the paper attributes to Birsen Altuntaş, the decision not to continue was made after the results came in. After the decision, episode 4, which aired on 30 September, fell to 20th place in Total with 1.18, 18th in AB with 0.86 and 17th in ABC1 with 1.13 (Onedio, Sözcü). According to the report, the finale is expected with episode 5 on Wednesday evening 7 October; this makes it the shortest-lived series on the list.

How many series remain on screen, and what is not known?

According to Onedio's count, in a season that opened with 35 series, 32 remain after these three finales; the number of series on atv drops to 4 (Güneşin Doğduğu Yer, Mercan Köşk, Hamal, Altı Üstü İstanbul), and on Star TV it also drops to 4. The same site's schedule report dated 30 September, however, shows atv with 3 series (Altı Üstü İstanbul, Güneşin Doğduğu Yer, Mercan Köşk), not counting Hamal. These counts are the news site's own lists and have not been separately verified in this file. What is not known: whether atv will issue an official statement on the two decisions, whether the finales will air on the planned dates, and the ratings of the finale episodes. The file will be updated as the finales air.
