Yarım Elma is a Turkish comedy, drama series broadcast on Kanal D, Show TV, first aired in 1997–2001. Twin sisters Yonca and Gonca, given to separate adoptive families after birth, reunite years later. Plot
Yonca and Gonca are twin sisters who were given to separate adoptive families immediately after birth. Yonca is a well-educated, independent woman working as an editor at a women’s magazine in Istanbul. Gonca was raised by Pire Nene in a mountain village in Elazığ. After learning that she has a twin sister, Gonca travels to Istanbul and moves into Yonca’s home. The sisters’ different experiences and habits lead to misunderstandings and comic situations. The series also incorporates romantic conflicts, working life, domestic violence, child protection and the contrast between urban and rural life into its comedy.
