Plot
Dicle lives with her mother in a mountain village and is confined by the pressure of her ruthless brothers. She has never gone beyond the village and cannot read or write. An earthquake brings her into contact with Erkan, an Istanbul native who has left behind a comfortable life to serve in the military. After a bloody incident, Erkan is forced to marry Dicle to protect her from an honor killing. While Dicle believes the marriage is genuine, Erkan’s family has already planned another marriage for him after his military service. Erkan takes Dicle to Istanbul, where she struggles to adapt to city life and the world of the Aldur family, while Erkan must explain the forced marriage to his relatives. The story follows the family conflict, the village-city divide, and the changing feelings between the two characters. Later developments expand the family mystery through Dicle’s search for her sister Feride, suspicions about the connection between Erkan and Fikret, and Nilüfer’s secret relationship with Civan.

What's in this series?
Adaptation status
The official producer page credits the story to Coşkun Irmak and the screenplay to Yeşim Aslan. Neither the producer nor the broadcaster identifies a source novel, story, film, series, or historical work. Based on the available sources, Sevdiğim Sensin is classified as an original story rather than an official adaptation.
Real-world context
The story combines a post-earthquake crisis in a village with the threat of an honor killing, forced marriage, illiteracy, and Dicle’s transition from village life to Istanbul. These are presented as dramatic elements of the series, not as a retelling of a specific true event.
Village-city and family tensions
Dicle’s move from a life confined to her village into the world of the Aldur family creates one of the series’ central contrasts. The tension between Erkan’s family’s arranged marriage plan and his forced marriage to Dicle places personal choice against family expectations.
Production context
Sevdiğim Sensin is produced by Ay Yapım and broadcast on Star TV. The official credits list Kerem Çatay as producer, Gökçen Usta as director, Yeşim Aslan as screenwriter, and Coşkun Irmak as the story creator. Aytaç Şaşmaz and Helin Kandemir play the leading roles of Erkan Aldur and Dicle Demir.
