What's in this series?
Source of the adaptation and localization
Mucize Doktor is the Turkish adaptation of the 2013 South Korean series Good Doctor, written by Park Jae-beom. KBS sources describe the original series as a story about pediatric surgeons at a university hospital and Park Si-on, a young doctor with savant syndrome. Screenwriter Pınar Bulut said that the Turkish adaptation preserved the protagonist’s core story.
Autism and television representation
The series makes savant syndrome and communication differences associated with autism visible through its central character. Academic studies have examined Mucize Doktor in relation to autism and public awareness. These studies discuss the show’s representation but do not establish that its medical and behavioral portrayal represents every autistic person.
Production and broadcast
The series was produced by MF Yapım, with Asena Bülbüloğlu as producer and a screenplay by Pınar Bulut and Onur Koralp. The NOW archive lists the series through episode 64; its launch announcement identified FOX as the broadcaster.
Prejudice, professional competence and belonging
The story follows Ali’s struggle as his professional competence is repeatedly questioned because of his communication style and neurological differences. It also focuses on workplace cooperation, personal growth and acceptance. The original Good Doctor descriptions likewise identify prejudice and discrimination as central conflicts.
