Defne Kayalar is a Turkish actress born in Izmir on 7 May 1975. She graduated from the Graphic Design department of Bilkent University’s Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture. She subsequently worked as an assistant in the Radio, Television and Cinema department at Istanbul Bilgi University. Alongside acting, Kayalar has also taken part in production-related work, building a career across television, cinema, digital projects and theatre. Her portrayal of Sedef Kaya in Medcezir brought her wider recognition among television audiences. Her selected screen credits include Yol Ayrımı, Dip, Bir Başkadır, Kuş Uçuşu and Arayış.
