What's in this series?
Production and broadcast context
The series was produced by Sis Yapım, written by Çağan Irmak and directed by Irmak Çığ. It premiered on Kanal D on May 12, 2008. Sources list two seasons and 41 episodes; during its second-season period, it also moved to Star TV.
The Aegean and small-town setting
The promotional summaries establish Ayla’s return from Istanbul to a small Aegean town as the central environmental contrast of the story. A production report states that filming was taking place in Ayvalık. The town therefore functions as the main narrative space where Ayla reconnects with her past and family circle.
Marital crisis and starting again
The central conflict begins when Ayla’s husband’s infidelity forces her to reconsider her sense of trust and her established life. Her return to the town is presented as an emotional confrontation with her past and family environment.
Contemporary comparative commentary
A 2008 Hürriyet report presented the series in comparison with Çağan Irmak’s earlier film My Father and My Son. This was not presented as an adaptation or as a verified statement of creative inspiration, so it is treated only as contemporary press commentary.
