What's in this series?
Child abuse and the need for protection
The series begins with Eylül being abused by her stepfather and sent to a children’s home by her mother. A 2017 RTÜK report records public complaints about the series’ scenes of violence and abuse against a girl by her stepfather. This makes the series a fictional work that brings issues of child protection and institutional care into view, but it does not establish that the story is based on a specific real case.
Production and broadcast context
Kırgın Çiçekler was produced by NTC Medya for atv. The listed producer is Mehmet Yiğit Alp, the director is Serkan Birinci, and the credited writers are Yelda Eroğlu and Gül Abus Semerci. The atv archive records the series finale as episode 113, broadcast on March 12, 2018.
International circulation
The atv distribution catalogue gives the official international title as “Orphan Flowers.” It presents the series as a drama about young girls from shattered families and lists Spanish among its language options.
Public discussion
A 2017 RTÜK report records Kırgın Çiçekler as the second series receiving the most public notifications that year, with 1,864 notifications. The reported concerns focused on scenes of violence and abuse involving children and their possible effects on young viewers. This indicates public discussion of the series’ sensitive content, not a general measure of audience approval or critical success.
