Plot
Yaşar Yüksel is a family man living modestly with his wife Safiye, daughter Yıldız, sister-in-law Melike and brother-in-law Gündüz. After unexpectedly becoming the general manager of Özpamuk Textile, Yaşar and his family move into the privileged residential world of Jetset Konakları. This brings them into close contact with the Özpamuk family, including former general manager Ozan, whose position and home life change after his father’s decision. The series builds its comedy around clashes involving class, status, consumption, manners and urban life. Later storylines include family rivalry, romantic relationships, company life, social media and the characters’ attempts to cope with the COVID-19 quarantine period. Some of the final-season episodes were filmed by the actors in their own homes through video calls.

Adaptation status
BKM’s official presentation describes Jet Sosyete as an original comedy written by Gülse Birsel. No official statement confirming a specific source work was found in the reviewed sources. Critical comparisons with older class and society comedies are thematic comparisons, not proof of adaptation.
Class, status and urban life
The central comic conflict arises when a modest family suddenly enters an upper-class social environment. Academic and critical discussions interpret the encounter between the Yüksel and Özpamuk families through status markers, urban privilege and conspicuous consumption. This is a form of social observation and satire, not a retelling of a documented real event.
Broadcast and production history
According to BKM, the series was written by Gülse Birsel, directed by Hakan Algül and broadcast across three seasons from 2018 to 2020. Academic sources record its first season on Star TV, second season on TV8, and third season first on PuhuTV and later on Star TV. During the COVID-19 quarantine, some episodes were recorded by the actors in their homes through video calls; the 59th episode, broadcast on May 6, 2020, was the finale.
A formal response to quarantine
The quarantine specials incorporated home recordings by the actors and video-call screens into the show’s structure. Academic studies note that these episodes addressed quarantine, uncertainty and everyday anxiety through comedy, making the production context part of the series’ formal identity.
