Adaptation status
Official ATV materials do not present the series as an adaptation of a specific literary or audiovisual work. The existence of a folk song and other productions sharing the title is not, by itself, evidence of an official adaptation.
Crime, the state and power
The central conflict is built around tensions between the Çakırbeyli family’s position in the criminal world and the state’s attempts to control illicit activities. The official synopsis presents this as a fictional power struggle rather than a story tied to a documented real person or event.
Production context
The series was announced for broadcast on ATV in 2015. The initial announcement credited Raci Şaşmaz as producer and screenwriter and Onur Tan as director; ATV’s archive page later lists Onur Tan, Zübeyr Şaşmaz and Baran Özçaylan as directors.
Cultural context of folk-song use
An academic study published by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism discusses the use of Âşık Mahzuni Şerif’s folk song “İşte Gidiyorum” in episode 73 and relates this use to oral-culture heritage. This does not establish that the series was adapted from the song.
