Annem (2007)
Annem is a Turkish drama, family series broadcast on Kanal D, first aired in 2007. Sixteen years after divorcing Musa, Zeynep raises their daughter Gonca alone and tells her that her father is dead. Musa, now a successful politician, knows nothing about either Zeynep or Gonca. When Gonca runs away from home, the family secret begins to unravel.

Plot
Zeynep and Musa meet at university and marry. After learning that Musa has been involved with another woman, Zeynep divorces him without revealing that she is pregnant. She raises their daughter Gonca alone and tells her that her father has died. Musa, meanwhile, rises in politics and becomes a minister, unaware that he has a daughter. Sixteen-year-old Gonca struggles with poverty, social embarrassment and her feelings for Eymen. Her decision to run away from home brings Musa face to face with the truth and reopens the family’s unresolved past.
